Here we are again ready for the 53rd Grandfather Mountain Highland Games and Gathering of the Scottish Clans Weekend, Held July 10-13 at the MacRae Meadows on Grandfather Mountain near Linville, North Carolina. Come stay and enjoy the games, people, and beautiful historic Blowing Rock.
The weather has been fantastic…cool evenings with glorious warm days kissed with the breath of fresh mountain air. You couldn’t ask for better hiking weather. And if you are very diligent you may catch a glimpse of a fairy in the cool of the evening. You may not have heard, but every June and July they come to visit us in the Highlands of North Carolina to bless the past and present ancestors of the great Scottish Clans.
Let me now leave you with this Scottish blessing until we meet again….
May the best you have ever seen be the worst you will ever see.
May the mouse never leave your grain store with a tear drop in its eye.
May you always stay hale and hearty until you are old enough to die.
